About Jarod

Jarod grew up in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, a small town just outside of Tulsa. He spent his childhood being tormented by his older brother Toby (as a WWF wrestling dummy), tormenting his younger brother Nick (the best live paintball target a brother could ask for), meticulously curating various rock and coin collections, and pretending to be a Ninja Turtle and a Mario Brother simultaneously (a feat no other boy before him had ever accomplished).

As he entered high school, he established more practical and productive hobbies, such as driving around town aimlessly with his friends, eating at Taco Bueno, and putting in the time needed to become a professional athlete in any sport he didn't already consider himself bad at (a brief encounter between a baseball and his left eye eliminated sports with balls smaller than a grapefruit as an option early in his life). He ultimately gave up on his dream to skip college to become an instant millionaire athlete and set his sights on a more practical, independent college experience in a place a bit closer to the beach.

He attended Clemson University in South Carolina in 2002 where he joined a fraternity (Sigma Chi), fell in love with college football (Go Tigers!), and learned how to do his own laundry. He graduated in 2006 with a BS in Economics and Finance and continued his beachward migration to Charleston, SC where he began his career at a software company (Blackbaud) as a Quality Assurance Analyst. It was there that he would eventually meet the most perfect girl, friend, board game enemy, and future wife he ever could have asked for.

Jarod's current passions include watching Clemson football games, tailgating for Clemson football games, drinking bourbon, playing soccer and flag football, crossfit, traveling the world, and eating nachos.
